Personal Statement
I am a lifelong learner, which is why I love the design + technology industry. It never remains static. However, I am a firm believer that technology must serve the needs of humans. It is not a solution unto itself.
I address this human-computer relationship by practicing design-thinking (a creative process that emphasizes the person using the tech) and injecting it into the production process. This keeps people at the center of digital develop resulting in intuitive and adoptable products & services.
Artificial Intelligence is now sweeping through the product design industry and, in fact, every company’s business — but many haven’t accepted this yet. There has never been a technology that will so fundamentally change how we conduct our affairs and in so short a period of time.
To maintain fluency in this rapid evolution and that of Blockchain, I continuously experiment to learn. To that point, in 2018 I was intrigued by Blockchain technologies. By the next year, I was working in the industry strategizing and leading a product group building crypto and decentralized products for blockchain initiatives. I learn by doing so this was the best education format to accelerate my learning. I then completed a course at Wharton on Blockchain and Digital Assets to test my practical knowledge against academia.
For AI, I took a similar path, but put academia first by enrolling in a class at MIT on AI and Business Strategy. This was at the end of 2023. While the course focused on background and strategy, the learnings already feel outdated. I now use AI for research, content creation, and as a strategic advisor.
